The Diapsora Kollektiv is a collaborative collective composed of a team of two artists and curators, Marea Lazzara Vigesaa and Marie Cole.

Lazzara Vigesaa has been unpacking the notion of resilient care within her practice, recently exploring vibrations through cello as a conduit for fugitivity.

Cole explores the intersections between body, earth, and African diasporic identity, through performance and textile sculptures.

In 2023 we had en exhibition where Jane Bjørnstad and Iromie Warnakulasooriya were part of organising. Jane Bjørnstad (they/them) works as a freelance content producer with a focus on photo and video. Iromie Warnakulasooriya  (she/her) is a multimedia artist who is also a newly established performer in the ballroom scene.

  • The collective will introduce various workshops and artist talks around dierent creative concepts. The purpose is to explore and exchange knowledge, skills and interests together. Through these activities, we invite the BIPOCQT community to join us in a welcomed and comfortable environment to experience their creativity and voice.
  • They aim to facilitate for BIPOCQT (Black Indigenous People of Colour Queer Trans) individuals interested in Art, who need a space to discuss and create art related to identity

OUR VISION

Diaspora Kollektiv envisions a future Norway where BIPOCQT creatives and art practitioners can cultivate an archive through creative gatherings intended to foster collective care and acknowledgement.

OUR MISSION

Our aspiration is to create a future Norway where BIPoCQT creators and artists can cultivate an archive through creative gatherings with an emphasis on collective care and recognition. We aim to facilitate an inclusive cultural discourse that engages local Norwegian racialized communities in reimagining and reshaping dominant social narratives.
